Alpine Rivers® RFID Blocking Money Belt – Onyx Black

This money belt was excellent! I traveled for a month in India and wore it every day. Things I love about it: It has one continuous loop (no clips) that encircle the waist. It can be adjusted on the go to easily shift from wearing on the waist to wearing a bit more on top of the hips. It has a slim profile; doesn't add bulk to the body. The RFIDs are certainly a useful addition.As one can see in the photo, it has two distinct zippered compartments. The larger (longer one) has two inner pockets; one smaller credit card pocket; the other inner pocket is long enough to hold bills. In front of the two inner pockets in the same zippered compartment is a long space which is perfect for holding folded documents, passport, and/or more bills. Mostly I wore the money belt on the outside of my clothing because it fits close to the body. Occasionally I found myself in a situation, where I deemed it best to pull my top over it to conceal it. The money belt fabric is sturdy. It will soften up a bit as you wear it but remain sturdy. Zippers functioned well and held up just fine.I love, love, LOVE this money belt! Not only great for traveling, but for vending at festivals, for shopping, and for a night out dancing!

“This is the best money belt for travel. My friend bought a different brand and hers wasn't a wide as the Alpine Rivers. It's durable and sweat and water resistant. A quality product with good stitching. My friends with the other brand stared to ravel while we were on our trip. The pockets we're sufficiently sized to fit your passport, room key, cash and my iPhone 7 and still kept a slim appearance. RFID sleeves worked very well and blocked the signal for all my cards and my passport. Im a curvy girl and the strap was long enough to fit around my waste and didn't add volume. The Smart Pursuits money belt will be my go to travel accessory for all my upcoming international trips. I have recommended it to several friends.

Used the Alpine Rivers Money Belt in an overseas trip and was it was surprisingly comfortable, lightweight but most importantly kept valuables safe with the RFID blocking feature.

Light weight but tough. I like that it can with RFID sleeves for passport and 2 credit cards. Fits under clothes and holds enough for what you need.

Son is heading to remote regions of Guatamala for a service trip, so needs to keep his passport and essentials on him all the time. I hope this works for him.

UPDATE: Phenomenal customer service! I contacted the company regarding the missing RFID sleeves and got an immediate response, follow up and sleeves sent to me! So encouraging to experience customer service like this!

I just received this and seems durable and good quality. Purchased for an upcoming trip. However, I’m disappointed that it is pretty noisy and did NOT have any of the card sleeves as advertised.

Nice and light weight option. Only draw back is the crinkly sound it makes when you bend or sit down. Nice to have cards, cash, and a few small items close by. Worked well on a day trip to Catalina Island where I didn't want to take a backpack. I didn't try out the RFID features.

I ordered two of these for a trip to Europe but wound up not using either of them. They are too large and therefore are uncomfortable. I had a couple of older ones I had that fit better that we used instead. They seem fine for what they are, well made, but are simply too large to be comfortable for us.

Purchased this belt for a trip to Barcelona. Very comfortable fit. Clips securely around your waist with an adjustable belt. Two good sized zipper pockets. I had two passports in one pocket, and some cash and a credit card and 5 bus tickets in the other pocket, and it wasn't overfilled. It was actually quite discreet with what I had in it. The only issue I had was that the wallet part folded over easily and was a bit annoying to wear. Also, the pockets were "crispy" and made noise. I would have liked it better with a softer and more pliable material, but overall, it was a great travel wallet and certainly did its job securing my stuff.

This is the absolute best money belt ever. Went to Morocco for a month (June), and wore this every single waking moment. Pounding the pavement for 8+ hours a day too. Zero sweat equals zero itch. The fine, mesh fabric on the back side (that comes directly in contact with your skin) is soft and breathable. It never slipped nor moved from its position. A continuous loop around your waist - but I wore it much lower - and it stays put. Super low profile too. I wore it under whatever it was I was wearing, and no one was the wiser. Two zippered pouches, and two sleeves in one of the pouches - perfect for your passport. I've worn quite a few different pouches like these, and this one is by far the best. Awesome product!

Bought this for a trip to the Mediterranean and like other reviews say once you fill it with things it definitely does stick out so it's hard to wear under clothing without looking pregnant or lumpy. But honestly I just wore it either out front like a fanny pack or carried it over my shoulder with the strap like a purse. Great pockets and the card protectors that came with it were awesome.

Really cool product. Used it recently on a 10-day trip to Europe and was very happy with the product overall.Pros: it hides really well. Because of the thin profile and zippers, it would be extremely difficult for anybody to pickpocket even in a super crowded place. They would have to literally lift your shirt and unzip the pockets of the belt which of course you would notice immediately. Well, I guess anything is possible..but this product greatly minimizes the odds. For maximum results, wear it inside the pants around the waistline, which you can do easily because of the thin profile.Cons: if you wear it inside your pants for maximum effectiveness, it gets hot very quickly...but nothing you cannot live with.

This is a good looking money belt and is quite slim. I just used it for two weeks in Peru and put my iPhone 6 with case (not a thick case) in the smaller zipper compartment and used the larger zipped compartment for cash and credit cards. While it did the job, the phone fit so tightly in the case that it was constantly opening apps on its own and it accidentally deleted my Mail app! No biggie as I could get mail on my iPad, and if I forgot to zip the phone in, it was wedged in there tightly and wouldn't fall out. Nice looking in gray. For my next trip, I might go with a bit thicker more traditional "fanny pack" to avoid issues with my phone. I normally wore it outside my clothing as it looked better.

I don't know how to really test if it works but when I was traveling in Europe I didn't have any issues with my cards. The card sleeves can even fit more than one card in them or cash. While it was a bit large for me to wear on the inside of clothes, it fits under leggings or a stretch pant better for that purpose. Of you wany to wear it on the outside of your clothes then it's fine since it's not flashy or bulky. It's not itchy or uncomfortable since you can adjust it.

I only just received the product and have yet to put it to practical use---I have a 2 week trip to Italia coming up in just 2 weeks---so I cannot speak to the usage of the product as of yet....but will state that I did receive it earlier than expected.
My passport fits in well and there is plenty of room for other items (money, train and plane tixs, travel itineraries, pocket language books, etc.)

I like the neutral color, the overall sleek design and lightness of the product...and the waistband is soft and adjustable and so far appears like it will be most comfortable.
I like the RFID cases for both passport and credit card.
So far my only regret that is it made in China---I had thought it stated it was made in U.S.A but...
I will give a complete update after I put this to the test but I have high hope that is will work like a charm!

This money belt took a lot of stress out of a train trip for me. I simply clamped it on beneath my shirt before I boarded the train with my cash, cards, and phone. Never did I have to worry about the whereabouts of a purse or wallet or backpack. I walked all over the New Orleans French Quarter with it for two days, and never once worried about my money or phone. A couple of things to note: it is what it says it is -- a money belt. It is very slim, so don't expect it to be able to carry your comb, lipstick, and other perceived necessities. I have a large phone (6" screen) with a thick cover, and it was a squeeze, but adequate. It had enough compartments that I was able to separate my bills into categories. Also, I have a 40" waist, and it fit snugly but comfortably with the strap lengthened as far as it would go. Not sure how it would work with a larger waist than that.

Honestly, I have to say that this company gave the best customer service I've received on a product I've purchased from Amazon. But first, let me say that the money belt is excellent and I bought two of them for my husband and me. They arrived quickly and they seem to be high quality. We tried putting them on and they were comfortable. I'm guessing they'll stay comfortable after walking around Berlin and Prague because of the breathing material. The new RFID feature also gives us peace of mind. The pockets and key holder are all very useful.But back to the customer service...it really was the best. Part of the purchase included a "gift" of extra RFID covers for credit cards, passports, etc. and one of the belts did not have it inside. However, I was not concerned because I had already received a very impressive email from the company that wanted to make sure we were happy with our purchase. I emailed the company (got the owner, I believe) and she answered me in lightning speed, apologized profusely (even though it was a gift), and sent us another bigger pack of RFID sleeves with 2-day air. So impressed! Thank you very much!

Bought this after our bank switched to the new Chip. Took it on a vacation to Vegas.
It works well to go under a shirt and easily holds cards, ID, and cash.
Keys are a bit of a stretch, comfort wise.
A slim cell phone can fit but is impractical if it's worn under the clothes to prevent pick-pockets and chip swiping.
Can be a bit interesting getting payment out if under the clothes, so I started wearing an undershirt under it and a looser shirt over it. That way when you pull up the shirt to access you aren't showing the world your goods. Layering also helps with heat if you are traveling to a warm area.
Comes with individual RFID blocking sleeves, very handy and I still use them daily.
Is a 'must pack' item for future trips, especially in areas known for RFID swiping and pick-pockets.

What a nicely designed and well-made money belt! I purchased this for a future trip abroad next year, so haven't had the chance to actually use this belt, but I know it will be just what I need. It's nice and roomy for holding phone/passport/credit cards/bills/earbuds, etc. and has a hidden but easily accessible buckle at the front. The adjustable stretch belt provides a lot of leeway for a wide range of belt sizes. It's not a completely quiet money belt, so there's a little bit of a crinkly sound, but nothing extremely noisy that would make me not want to wear it. I feel like this will be perfect for travel and even for wearing locally anytime I'd like to conceal my money/cards and phone (concerts, sports events, etc.). Really appreciated how affordable this travel belt for such a high-quality item. The Season's Greetings box that it came in and the enclosed RFID cards for passport and cards were a really nice touch!

Sooooo glad I didn't get the one that goes around your neck! I was watching others that had those models and I'm sure that would have bothered me to no end. This one worked great! Was able to keep passports and important documents completely separate on entire trip and never feared them getting lost. I was able to slide the passports in and out quickly without drawing attention. I had an article of clothing over it to hide. Good quality. Never really felt it on since it fits flat up against you...not like the old fanny packs that stick out. I even had room for my boarding passes and the luggage tags they give you. (All the paperwork/passports for three passengers.) Everything important safe and secure and never got in my way. I slept vertically across three seats on the plane and never felt it. Great purchase!

My first time traveling with a money belt and this product worked well. Rick Steves said on his website you will be surprised how quickly you get used to wearing one, and he was right. Minutes after putting it on each morning, I usually forgot all about it. It fit fairly sleekly and because I wore it with the pack in back rather than in front, it was barely noticeable. One thing I have to improve on is nothing to do with the belt. When wearing it switched around like that, under your clothes, if you do need get into to it, it's a pain to access. I did get pretty good at fishing out a credit card from behind my back, but it's easier to plan ahead and load your day bag or front pockets with whatever you may need from your money belt before going out. The point is not to have to get into it while you are out and about. My husband was not a fan and usually left his in the hotel safe when we had access to one, but that was not always an option. I chose to wear mine every day regardless. I did stop sleeping in it when I felt comfortable with our lodging situation. Overall I did travel with a little more peace of mind and less worry about pickpockets.

UPDATED REVIEW** Upon writing my review about how unhappy I was with the purchase, I was quickly contacted by Robin of Alpine Rivers who immediately refunded me and sent me a new money belt. Upon the arrival of the new belt, I tried it on, it fit perfectly and THE CLASP ACTUALLY CLASPED!! Wore it around for a short time and I'm satisfied with this product.Thank you to Alpine Rivers for their GREAT customer service!!!!Purchased this item for a trip to Europe. When I opened the package and tried it on, the clasp would absolutely not clasp at all. Even with adjusting the strap, it was still not clasping. Upon return of our trip, I was unable to return the item as it was past the return date. I would not advise anyone to buy this product at all.
